Your ambition. Connected.

Independent advice.
Hands-on engineering.

Metis is an independent network consultancy for organizations that run their own network and want senior architecture alongside their in-house team. We assess, design, secure, and troubleshoot the networks your business depends on, and we sell nothing but the work.

Nothing to sell but the work

Metis resells no hardware or software, takes no referral fees or carrier commissions, holds no vendor partner tiers, and will not bid to run the network it assesses. Our recommendations are shaped by your requirements, your constraints, and your budget. And because our consultants are practicing engineers, the strategy we write is one we can build.

About Metis

Deep technical expertise behind every recommendation

Our advice is grounded in four disciplines we practice every day. The engineers who assess and design your network are the same people who can build, secure, and troubleshoot it.

Our expertise
  • Network architecture

Campus, data center, routing, switching, and segmentation designed for resilience, performance, and simple operation.

  • Security & resilience

Firewall architecture, 802.1X network access control, traffic segmentation, and failover designed into the foundation rather than added later.

  • Cloud & connectivity

WAN, SD-WAN, and SASE, hybrid cloud connectivity, wireless, and remote access, designed with a clear view of the whole path.

  • Performance & visibility

Monitoring and alerting strategy, traffic analysis, and advanced troubleshooting that turn blind spots into a plan of action.

Platforms we work with every week

Strategy that survives contact with the network

Every engagement follows the same discipline. We start with your business and your environment, define the target architecture with the trade-offs made explicit, deliver the change with rigorous planning and validation, and leave your team able to own what comes next.

  • Assessment. Fixed scope, fixed fee, independent findings, and a prioritized plan.
  • Project. Design and delivery at a fixed fee per milestone, with change planning and validation built in.
  • Retainer. A senior architect on call for decisions, reviews, and vendor conversations, for a flat monthly fee.
How we work

Industries we serve

The fundamentals of a sound network do not change by sector. The constraints do. We bring relevant experience from the environments below and adapt the work to yours.

Who we work with

Organizations that depend on their network and run it themselves: typically a few hundred to a few thousand people across several sites, with an in-house IT or network team carrying operations and architecture at the same time. Many run more than one data center or cloud platform and are growing, acquiring, or consolidating.

The team is usually strong on operations and fully committed to it. Senior design capacity on call, an independent voice when vendors and carriers present proposals, and room to absorb a refresh or a migration alongside daily work are what get squeezed. That is where Metis comes in, without bidding to run the network.

  • Your own team, or an MSP. We work alongside either, and we will not bid to replace them.
  • Enterprise platforms. The switching, firewall, SASE, and cloud platforms shown above are the ones we configure every week.
  • Sectors with their own constraints. Healthcare and financial services with HIPAA, PCI DSS, and FFIEC obligations; manufacturing, education, and the public sector with pressures of a different kind.
How we work

Start with a 30-minute scoping call.

Tell us where you’re headed and what’s in the way. A senior engineer will call to understand your situation, not to pitch.

  1. We read your message and reply to arrange the call at a time that suits you.
  2. A senior engineer joins the call to understand your environment and what you are trying to achieve.
  3. If there is a fit, you receive a written proposal with scope, deliverables, and price. If there is not, we say so and point you in a better direction.
